Kim is reimagining how we can practice and build upon social skills.

Intentional friend matching and coaching for Autistic adults and young adults.

Individualized support for improving what gets in the way of successful relationships.

Social gathering meet ups based on special interests or ages.

This unique social skills program has been created acknowledging that validating community generates its own medicine and social supports reach beyond a typical therapy hour. This is for connecting special interests and interaction preferences between the Autistic Neurotype, all levels official diagnosis or self diagnosed, for individuals 18 and older. This is predominantly a coaching program with discernment on friend matching by Kim who has extensive experience, with opportunity to enroll in Filtering Light Counseling’s therapeutic skills group as needed. This is not an app, not AI, and not a dating service. Currently connecting those in Oregon.

Now gaining interest and waitlist to be a part of the Wavelength database of potential friends!

First Steps-

Fill out the submission form below to be on the list of those interested to join the program.

Kim will contact you for an initial meeting to officially join the Wavelength Social Skills program. Within the intake, content will include who you are, what you want to connect about (such as special interests), how you want to connect (media, frequency), any social preferences for successful relationships, and what would typically end a friendship. The database will have a consistent number of members to match with. You can leave the program any time and new members will join.

Estimated start to the Wavelength Social Skills program in Summer 2026

Once you are in the program:

The Matching - Matches will be made based on similar age, interest, logistic requests, and more.

There will be a fee for each match made, which includes desired coordination for the match and making initial contact. Connection coordination will be organized as either an email connection or for additional support an in person 45 minute meet and greet.

-        Being enrolled in this type of program will require some patience and flexibility due to matches being determined by those enrolled. To supplement the wait, there will be social nights available to join on going.  At the beginning it is unclear of matching frequency, however their will be a cap on the number of members in the Wavelength database and it will be a goal for every person to be matched within the database within a year of joining.

Post Match -After every Wavelength match made, it is required to meet with Kim for at least one 45 minute session to discuss how the connection is going, coaching though what might be getting in the way of sustaining the connection, and collaborative workshopping applicable social skills topics.

-        Topics may include not knowing what to say, navigating vulnerability, how to recover from something awkward, how to reach out if time has lapsed, and/or how to communicate needs.

-        This meeting also will ensure that those enrolled in the program are matched with good matches, and members are emotionally safe to be matched with. If determined it was not a true match, there will be assistance with ending the friendship. If there are concerns about the safety of a member, referrals will be coordinated out to therapy level of support and enrollment will be paused or discharged from program until necessary skills are learned.

Don’t forget the Additional options!

-        Those in the database can be matched with more than one friend.

-        Wavelength Social Connection Night gatherings – Once in the Wavelength database, opportunity to reserve spots for casual 1 hour themed meet ups that members can join. Social nights will be based on age or special interests. Announcements will be sent via email and themes will be applicable to members currently in the Wavelength Social Skills program. Gatherings will offer in person nights and on video nights.

-        One session prior to meeting the new friend can be scheduled to cope ahead and learn skills for successful initial connection.

-        Additional as needed individual or group/two friends together sessions for support within the building of the friendship.

-        If needed, members can be referred into a therapeutic level of support with social skill development focus by joining Filtering Light Counseling’s therapeutic FIRE Circle group for peer consultation and mental health topics.
